Callaway Golf X-18 Iron Set user reviews
A n exceptional iron 5/25/2008
Handicap 10 - 15
I tried the knockoff of the Calaway x-18 and they were pretty good. Played them a couple of years with good results. I decide to try my first pro-quality irons and purchased the Callaway x-18 in graphite, 3-p, a, sw. What a difference. Don't waste your money and precious time on the course. Buy the real thing, I don't intend to trade my x-18s for a long time (maybe never).....every shot is smooth and is there.

Easier to hit than expected 11/7/2007
Handicap 20-30
Bought a set of Mizuno mx-900's used. Went back to the pro shop with my brother and he bought a set of x-18's. I tried them out and without hesitation went back and traded straight for a set. They are so easy to hit. Took around 10 strokes off my game the first time I played with them.

great irons 4/12/2007
Handicap 10 - 15
i love these irons, because every shot u hit with these irons is great even if u chunk it or catch it thin its still going to be a great shot no matter wat. every spt on the club face is a hot spot. like the 4 and 3 iron r usually rlly hard to hit wit most clubs but with the X-18 irons the 4 and 3 iron feels great it feels just like ur hitting a 8 or a 9 iron. and they also have great technology in the inside of the club i think it is one of the best clubs every made. i also love these irons because they r

Callaways best by far 10/7/2006
Handicap 6 - 10
Im pretty new to the game and purchaced the X18 after trying them at a local proshop. My scores went from 110s to 85s in a matter of weeks. This club has very good control in the fairways as well as around the greens.

Handicap 0 - 5
I have been playing the Callaway X-12 irons for several years and decided to upgrade this year. I purchased a set of X-18 Pro Series with Royal Precision 6.5 Rifle shafts and the results were immediate. I like the fact that the Pro Series have less offset and it allows me to work the ball better. The clubs have great feel and inspire confidence when addressing the ball

I keep reading about length of shaft, measuring wrist to floor, I am short, so what does this measurement tell me and how do I apply it to shaft length

Thank you for your question in regard to shaft lengths. The measurement from wrist to floor will determine which length you will need your shaft set at. Typically, shorter golfer will need their irons/woods cut down in order to maximize proper impact. Please determine the length of your arm from wrist to floor from a standing upright position with your arms at your side and I can determine the optimal length for you.

Also your wrist to floor measurement will determine what lie angle you need. I'm 5'3" and I needed my clubs flattened 3 degrees from standard! Look into it!

I am a average golfer looking for new clubs...current set had extra inch added to shaft length, but not sure I needed it. I am 6'2"...would a custom club fitting be recommended or would std shaf

Thank you for your inquiry. Typically guys your height will need added length to the shaft with an upright lie angle. Your arm length from wrist to floor will give a better idea as to how much additional length is needed. The majority of golfers in your height range would benefit from a 1/2" extended shaft and a 2 degree upright lie angle. The custom iron set will definately improve your ball striking ability and your consistency in your iron play. Please give us a call if you have further quest
