Wilson Staff Zip Golf Balls - 2009 user reviews
True Spin 6/11/2009
Handicap 10 - 15
I have previously played one of three balls, depending on money situation and course: Nike Juice (cheap), Pro V1(long course), tour iX (short course). I was short on change, and the store was out of Juice. Picked up Zips for $16+ Tax. Played like a combo of all three balls. Hit it just as long as Pro V1, Had control like iX, yet had the same shot shape as the juice. Best ball Ive played with, ESPECIALLY for the money!

Wilson Staff Zip....a fine choice 5/9/2009
Handicap 10 - 15
I purchased these during a logo over-run sale at the end of last season. I normally play the Nike ignite but I'd heard that it was reaching the end of it's lifespan and I wanted a replacement. I've found the zip to be a competent stand in for the ignite on most every level. It's also a heck of a lot cheaper than the Nike vapor (the ignites official replacement). The zip is a 3 piece, as the ignite is, and gets comparable distance and spin. It feels a bit softer than the ignite when pured. The shallower dimp

impressive ball for the price. low three-piece spin 4/17/2009
Handicap 20-30
I've recently been studying various 3-piece balls by taking them to my local 9-hole course in the evenings after everyone had left and I would hit three of each brand of ball and see how they reacted to my ~94mph swing speed. So far I have done this trial 6 times and recorded my distance with each ball using a range finder. I tried the Bridgestone B330-RX, the Taylormade Burner TP, the Srixon Z-Star, The Callaway your IX, Precetp U-Tri tour, and the Top-Flite Gamer. To my surprise, there wasn't much of a d

Great ball!!! 4/6/2009
Handicap 10 - 15
I will try just about any ball on the market. But after playing the ZIP, I have only tried one other, the noodle. The zip gives you a very soft feel with the distance we all want. I have played the pro v1, but for the money this is THE ball. The difference in performance between the ZIp and the pro v1 is nominal. I can but 2 dozen Zips for the price of 1dzn pro v1 and get change back.

The talk is about club head speed; high, moderate and low. Just where does one go to determine club head speed and does this only apply to drivers?
A

Thank you for your inquiry. Club head speed is mainly mentioned when speaking of driving the golf ball. High club head speeds are 100 MHP+, moderate 85-99, and low would be considered below 85 MPH. Head speed will always be considered when determining shaft flex and usually ball selection. It is always great to be aware of your club head speed.

Jerry, the shelf life of the golf balls if stored in a climate controlled area is non existent. The balls will perform to the standards they were produced at the time. If you are playing an older golf ball you may notice differences from performance of newer balls but that is due to advances in technology not because the ball is "dead". Only storing balls out doors or in non controllable climates will you notice the balls only last around 2 years in most cases.

A golf ball takes between 100 and 1000 years to decompose. If a golf ball is not old and battered through play, it will be fine!!! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthnews/6540852/Golf-balls-take-1000-years-to-decompose.html

Is ID-Align aligned along 1) the center of balance, 2) the seam of two part cover, or 3) just a few dots on either side of initials?
A
05/04/2009 3:09 PMGolfballs.com Employee: Andy
Thank you for your question. The IDAlign service is centered in accordance to the logo of the manufacturer, in many cases the balls we print on are seamless. The are 6 different Golfballs.com ID-Align selections to choose from including arrows, lines, dots, or stars. For additional inquiries, please contact us at 1-800-372-2557. Thanks, Andy

Golf balls stored in a controlled climate, (not outside in the elements, not stored in a 100 degree temperature,)will lose ONE YARD per year. That means, obviously, if you store your golf balls for ten years they will lose only ten yards of carry. Most of us could never tell the difference until it reaches that ten year mark.
