As a recent converter to pro v1's I have tested both the 2008 and 2009 Pro V1's. The 2009 Pro v1's are a much better choice. Softer, longer, and are a much better putting ball. Now the 2008 Pro V1 has been discontinued because titleist lost a law suit to Callaway because the Pro V1 was a exact copy of one of there balls. So the choice is obvious the 2009 Pro V1 is a better ball

Actually, you can have a personalization of the number but the golf ball will still have 1-4 as the number for the golf ball. TaylorMade does have the choose your number program but your number at the most can only be 2 digits. 00-99 on the TaylorMade TP Red LDP or the TP Black LDP. Also, on the TP Red LDP your numbers will be red on the TP Black LDP your numbers will be black. You can have "high numbers" on the Titleist Pro V-1, the Pro V-1 X or the NTX Tour (5-8) that's about it for

You can get ProV1, ProV1x, and NXT Tour balls with high numbers 5 - 8. I play the high number NXT Tour and never have a problem identifying my ball.

This is a great question. These balls are equal in quality, although they are geared toward different golfers. The ProV1x is more of a tour ball with a higher compression designed for faster swing speeds. The ProV1 has a lower compression more suitable for the mid-range handicapper.

102 MPH is way too high of a clubhead speed to average just 201 so something you are using is keeping your drives from traveling a good 40-50 yards further. Some of the better distance balls are the Srixon TriSpeed, the Bridgestone E6+, the Callaway HX Hot+ and the Titleist Extreme. Im not sure what driver you are using but you may want to invest in either a new driver head, shaft or a combination of both.

Jeff, the main difference between the two is the amount of club head speed it takes to maximize performance. Thank you for your inquiry. Club head speed is mainly mentioned when speaking of driving the golf ball. High club head speeds are 100 MHP+, moderate 85-99, and low would be considered below 85 MPH. Head speed will always be considered when determining shaft flex and usually ball selection. It is always great to be aware of your club head speed.

Don't worry, I'll answer your question for you. Most golf shops have equipment with which they can measure your club head speed, however they may attempt to sell you a shaft you don't need. The vast majority of people do just fine with the shaft that comes with the club.

Search for a Golfsmith or PGA Tour Superstore in your area. Golfsmith has hitting areas set up near the rear of their shops and the majority of the time no one bothers you at all. The PGA Tour Superstores usually have at least 8 perforance bays that you can try clubs out.

My company bought several doz. balls, they were kept in the store room. How long will these balls last? are they still good? its been around 8yrs. the company closed and I recieved several doz.

Jerry, the shelf life of the golf balls if stored in a climate controlled area is non existent. The balls will perform to the standards they were produced at the time. If you are playing an older golf ball you may notice differences from performance of newer balls but that is due to advances in technology not because the ball is "dead". Only storing balls out doors or in non controllable climates will you notice the balls only last around 2 years in most cases.

Golf balls stored in a controlled climate, (not outside in the elements, not stored in a 100 degree temperature,)will lose ONE YARD per year. Nowadays so many balls aren't classified as having a "urethane" cover but more now classified under their own brand name cover. But please be sure and review ball descriptions as many of them do have the cover named in the description.

If it's one that has been in the water for months then it stands a much better chance to become "out of round" so that the performance of the golf ball is compromised. Titleist doesn't change the Pro V1 every year. Typically every 2 years. You can tell the different version by looking at the sidestamp and/or the alignment aid. That is how they visually make it different.

You may certainly request this. During checkout there is a space to add "additional comments." Please make your request there. But also please note that the being able to enlarge your personalization is based upon 1) there being a limited amount of text that you want on the ball 2) knowing that we have a limited amount of space to print on.
If you max out all three lines with text then we would have no room to grow, so to speak.

Thanks for your question. Golf Ball Manufacturer aren't required to put a compression on a golf ball and many of them don't want to be segmented by giving that information. In regards to dimple designs there are multiple dimple designs on golf balls and there is also not set number as to how many dimples a golf ball will have. It varies on every golf ball.

In regards to storing golf balls in cold temperatures or hot temps for that matter, temperature will eventually have an effect on a golf ball but only after a long period of time. Moral of the story, try not to store golf balls in your trunk! I'm guilty of that one!

I can't tell you how many calls or emails we receive stating that just when you get used to playing a certain ball they change it! It's enough to drive your crazy! For a golf ball manufacturer it's about doing their best to keep their product relevant and fresh. That is why their product gets tweaked every 1-2 years.
